Happy St Swithun's Day

Here's hoping for rain today because as Saint Swithun put it so eloquently:

St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain na mair

    Not to quibble, but not sure St. Swithun was an umbrellaist.

    He loved rain. And if the trade-off to people spending time in the rain is that they need an umbrella to protect their hair dos I am sure he would have been fine with that. Without rain, the umbrella is useless. So Swithun is the Daddy.
